Govt’s trademark Rajasthali falls prey to piracy, legal action sought

The trademark of government enterprise “Rajasthali” is also not safe from impostors who are misusing this  intellectual properties for misleading the tourists. This was observed during annual general body meeting of The Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation (RAJSICO) held on Wednesday . “Rajasthali” name and its logo are trademark of the RAJSICO which is a government enterprise. It has a big showroom at Ajmeri Gate in Jaipur and sees a regular flow of both foreign and domestic tourists.

The trademark of government enterprise “Rajasthali” is also not safe from impostors who are misusing this  intellectual properties for misleading the tourists. This was observed during annual general body meeting of The Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation (RAJSICO) held on Wednesday . “Rajasthali” name and its logo are trademark of the RAJSICO which is a government enterprise. Meghraj Lohia, Chairman of RAJSICO,during the meeting said that the name of Rajasthali and its logo is trademark of RAJSICO and the people misusing the logo and using a similar logo will face legal action from the government.

Lohia said, that few selfish people are misleading the tourists by using the name of Rajasthali and logo.  The products sold by Rajasthali have logo of Rajasthali printed on them and are most sought after by foreign tourists. Notably, courts in Jaipur see 2-3 cases of infringement of intellectual property every month  and mostly they are  related to logo. The showroom offers authentic Rajasthan handicrafts and clothes and also has a section of  outfits designed by famous designer Bibi Russell.
