Govt has failed to make women feel safe in Delhi: BJP

BJP on Wednesday alleged that the both have failed to make women feel safe in the national capital region, even after one month of the gruesome Delhi gang rape incident.

Lashing out at the Congress-led UPA and Delhi Governments, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday alleged that the both have failed to make women feel safe in the national capital region, even after one month of the gruesome Delhi gang rape incident.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that women are still feeling unsafe, but the government has not announced any comprehensive plan to make them feel secure

"It has been one month to the incident which took place In Delhi, but women still feel unsafe. The government has not made serious effort to amend the laws so that women feel safe. They have taken some actions but could not reassure the women of the national capital region," said Javadekar

"The governments should announce a comprehensive plan for social awareness as soon as possible. Other steps to ensure safety for the women and stringent punishment for the culprits must be taken," he added

The 23-year-old physiotherapy student, who died on December 29, was gang raped on brutally tortured by six men on a moving bus in South Delhi on December 16.
