Taking potshots at the Centre for failing to tackle the repeated instances of Chinese incursions into Indian territory, Congress leader Manish Tewari on Sunday said the BJP-led NDA Government is more concerned with its own survivability in office. "The fact is that this government has no policy towards … China, and that is why the Chinese have become emboldened. When a high-level delegation from India went to China in order to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Panchsheel, China honoured them by issuing a map which showed Arunachal Pradesh…parts of the Karakoram tracks as Chinese territory," Tewari said while reacting on the latest reports of Chinese incursion in Ladakh.

"The government of India kept mum. And after that incursions have increased and I can bet when the Chinese President visits India, this government will neither have the ball, nor the gumption or courage to raise these repeated intrusions, which have taken place, because this government unfortunately doesn't seem to be committed to upholding or protecting or preserving India's national interest and its security. All they are concerned with their own survivability in office," he said here. According to reports, some Chinese troops intruded 500 meters deep into Indian territory and put up tents, thereby escalating tension ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit to India. The Chinese troops had earlier last month reportedly entered almost 25 kms into the India territory in Ladakh's Burtse area.
