Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said that governance is all about leadership which motivates and directs bureaucracy to implement the government policies effectively on the ground.
"Those who say that bureaucracy runs the administration must remember that political leadership is always reflected in the working of the bureaucracy," he said.
Parrikar, who was here to address a meeting of intellectuals, said that a strong and result-oriented political leadership always motivates and directs bureaucracy to implement the Government policies effectively on the ground.
Citing reasons of people choosing giving another chance to BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Goa, he said that it was development and development only, that has repeated BJP Governments back to power by the voters of these states.
"Good governance, consistent performance better implementation of policies pro-development attitude and job oriented investments has been the hallmark of BJP-ruled governments," he said.
Speaking about industrial environment in the country, the Goa Chief Minister said that India was getting a stiff competition from China.
"We need better road and railway infrastructure, cheap electricity to reduce input cost, better utilisation of natural resources and decisive and honest leadership to give a push to industrial sentiments in the country," Parrikar said.
