The Goa government has finalised KPMG as satellite consultant to analyse all legal aspects of investment proposals cleared by the previous government.
The new investment promotion board under the chairmanship of Manohar Parrikar feels that more detailed analyses of these projects are required. Most of these projects are eco-tourism initiatives.
"The consultant will have a month or a month and a half to submit a detailed summary of these projects," Manohar Parrikar, Goa Chief Minister told media persons in Panaji.
30 projects of 149 approvals given by the IPB have been completed with a 3,000 employment capacity. 80 projects have just commenced with an employment potential of 12,000.
The rest have been sent to the satellite consultant or are yet to start. While a total of 39 projects have been given to the satellite consultant for review, 27 new projects are pending board approval.
The government has also decided that all projects will go before the satellite consultant for primary approval.
