The Goa tourism department is yet to give a formal approval to the electronic dance music (EDM) festivals 'Sunburn' and 'Supersonic' scheduled to be held later this month in the beach state.

"A committee which is supposed to provide single window clearance for both these events is yet to submit me the proposal for approval," state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said.

Both the festivals are yet to get the required clearance for this year, he said. 'Sunburn' festival is annually held at Vagator, while 'Supersonic' is organised at Candolim beach, both in North Goa. Both the events are held between December 27 and 30.

Parulekar said the committee providing single-window clearance had met earlier this year. It has now scheduled another meeting sometime soon to decide on the festival. Both the EDM festivals attract thousands of music revellers annually to North Goa.
