As the high-decibel campaign for the general election came to an end Saturday, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi asked the people of Uttar Pradesh to help his party bag all the Lok Sabha seats in the state.
"Give BJP all seats from UP and give us the opportunity to take UP and India's development journey to newer heights," Modi tweeted. The Gujarat chief minister, who concluded his campaign with a rally in Ballia, said: "UP has won me over! I have received tremendous affection from people of UP during the entire campaign. My gratitude to the people of UP."
He asserted that the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress cannot do any good for the people of Uttar Pradesh as "they are one and are immersed in corruption and vote bank politics".
