Ghulam Nabi Azad launches ' Suqoon ' wellness project

Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday launched 'Suqoon' wellness project in Bhaderwah belt of Doda district.

'Suqoon' is an initiative of 'The Inner Call' forum to create a pool of health workers who would spread awareness on mental health issues.

Azad congratulated 'The Inner Call' for the initiative and wished them success in achieving their goal.

Jammu and Kashmir Health Minister Shabir Khan, who was also present on the occasion, said the state health department will render full support to the project.

'Suqoon' will also spread awareness through workshops and seminars about various mental health issues and guide people to overcome stigmas attached with it, said Affan Yesvi, secretary, 'The Inner Call'.

He said that under 'Suqoon', counseling centres will be established to provide counselling to deal with emotional and social trauma.
