The gay prince of Rajpipla, Manvendra Singh Gohil, is thinking of getting married, as he has finally found the love of his life. His boyfriend is 29-year-old Prajwal Miskin with whom he has been living for the last nine months. The gay couple say they are in a serious relationship and want to get married.

“Homosexual marriages are not legal in India, which is why we can’t marry here,” the couple say. “But Nepal has legalised gay marriage. In fact, Nepal’s gay MP, Sunilbabu Pant, plans to promote gay tourism in his country. We may go to Nepal and get married in a temple with all the rituals.”

In an exclusive interview with DNA, the couple gave an account of how they started living together and then realised that they were in love.

Miskin, an MSc in chemistry, is from Nagpur and currently works for a pharmaceutical company. “I met Manav four years back,” he said. “I had started an NGO with some friends in Nagpur to work for homosexuals and we had come here to meet Lakshya activists for guidance.” He said Gohil was his role model because he had heard and read a lot about him. “I used to meet Manav quite frequently during my trips to Surat and Vadodara in connection with my work, but those meetings were formal,”
he said.

Miskin was transferred to Mumbai by the company two-and-a -half years back. In Mumbai, Miskin started working for homosexuals with the Hamsafar trust and, for this reason, used to meet Gohil quite frequently. Miskin was then staying as a paying guest at some place but was looking for another accommodation. It was then that Gohil invited him to stay with him at his flat in Malad.Recalling those days, Gohil said Miskin had only one week to find a house. “I was living alone and used to travel a lot,” Gohil said.

“So I told him to join me. It was in February this year that Prajwal shifted to my flat.” After Miskin moved into Gohil’s flat, they began to spend more time together. They came close one night but were feeling awkward about it the following morning as they were still colleagues who worked together.

“It was my media manager, Deepak Kashyap, who told me that Prajwal thinks I am special for him,” Gohil said. “In the same way, Deepak told Prajwal to express his feelings for me openly but Prajwal respected me too much to do so. Then Deepak made us sit together and the ice was broken. We both accepted our love for each other.” Gohil said it was Miskin’s simplicity that had won his heart. “My astrologer, Trjyanandji, has told us that even our horoscopes are perfectly matched,” he said.
