Amid ruckus over the flying ban on Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad after he allegedly hit an Air India staffer, Shiv Sena on Thursday threatened not to attend the April 10 NDA meet if the issue is not resolved. "When rapist, terrorist can travel in the flight why can't Gaikwad," asked Sena addressing to media.

Lok Sabha witnessed utter chaos as Shiv Sena members, including Union Minister Anant Geete, surrounded Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju after he refused to heed to their demand for revoking the flying ban on their colleague Ravindra Gaikwad.

BJP members, including several union ministers, watched in shock as their allies hit Raju's bench in anger and did not let him leave. Soon thereafter, several leaders, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh, tried to placate Geete and his colleagues while Raju was ushered out. The incident occurred soon after the House was adjourned as Sena members created a ruckus, protesting Raju's response to Gaikwad's statement. Gaikwad attended the House for the first time on Tuesday after the incident.

Earlier in the day, according to reports, during an argument between BJP and Shiv Sena leaders in Parliament, some member was reportedly heard saying that they won't let the airlines fly from Mumbai.

Following which, Air India is likely to step up security of its staff at Mumbai and Pune airports. But Virendra Mishra- DCP Zone 8, Mumbai police said, "No such development at Mumbai airports. Security arrangements as per regular norms. Security has not been beefed up."

Meanwhile, the government said discussions will be held with the stakeholders to find an "amicable solution" at the earliest. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju will hold discussions with the stakeholders to arrive at an "amicable solution".

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said, "Civil Aviation Minister said the ban happened according to law which is same for all."

Earlier in the day, Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad defended himself saying he has not done anything wrong. Stating that he was not guilty, Gaikwad said, "I apologise to the Parliament if I have caused any hurt, but not to the Air India official. I have done nothing wrong and I didn't thrash anybody."

Last month, 57-year old Gaikwad, a Lok Sabha member from Osmanabad in Maharashtra, had abused and reportedly assaulted a 60-year-old duty manager of Air India with slippers just because he could not travel business class on an all-economy flight.

Air India has refused to fly the MP, following which other private airlines too refused to fly him. An FIR was also registered against him.
