When he was studying at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Shatrughan Sinha had acted in a diploma film, which he will soon see after all these years. FTII has decided to screen diploma films of past students for the public, and Sinha will be inaugurating the initiative at the FTII campus on August 5. Sinha's film, titled 'Angry young man' will open the festival.

Bhupendra Kainthola, director of FTII said, "Eversince the first batch in the FTII way back in 1960s, students have been making films as a part of their practicals. These films are submitted to the institute but they are never screened. There are over 500 such films. Hence, we have come up with this idea of screening some of these films which are in good condition."

FTII has a glorious list of alumni that includes noted actors, directors, and cinematographers and they all have contributed to these films.

"We are planning to screen these films on a weekly basis, and the screenings will be free of cost. We will be giving advertisements in newspapers about the screening of these movies so that movie-lovers can learn whose film they can watch over weekend," Kainthola said.
