Here is a timeline of events related to the sedition case against Kanhaiya Kumar.

Kanhaiya, was arrested on February 12 in a sedition case in connection with an event on campus against hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru during which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised.

Kanhaiya was today granted interim bail for six months by the Delhi High Court which said that he has to cooperate in the ongoing investigation and has to present himself before the investigators as and when required.

Following is the chronology of events relating to the sedition case in which JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar:

*Feb 9: Protest march held in JNU campus to commemorate the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

*Feb 10: ABVP demands expulsion of students who went ahead with protest despite withdrawal of permission by university.

*Feb 10: JNU administration orders a "disciplinary" enquiry into the event.

*Feb 11: Delhi Police registers a case of sedition against unknown persons following complaints by BJP MP Maheish Girri and RSS's student front ABVP.

*Feb 12: Home Minister Rajnath Singh says strongest possible action will be taken against those involved in raising anti-India slogans at the event in JNU.

*Feb 12: JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar arrested, sparking massive outrage among students.

*Feb 12: Kanhaiya remanded in 3 days police custody by Delhi court in sedition case.

*Feb 15: Police claims Kanhaiya had raised anti-national slogans during controversial event in JNU, adds "no evidence linking the LeT" to the event.

*Feb 15 : Violence in Patiala House courts with lawyers attacking journalists, JNU students and teachers dubbing them anti-nationals ahead of hearing in Kanhaiya's sedition case.

*Feb 15: Two FIRs registered in connection with Patiala court attack. Bar Council of India condemns attack says will conduct an enquiry.

*Feb 15: Plea filed in HC seeking NIA probe in sedition case of Kanhaiya.

*Feb 15: Delhi court extends Kanhaiya's police custody by two days.

*Feb 16: HC dismisses plea for NIA probe in the sedition case saying it was "premature".

*Feb 16: SC agrees to hear plea seeking fair proceedings in Kanhaiya's case.

*Feb 17: Another scuffle in Patiala House Court as men dressed in lawyers' robes allegedly beat up scribes and students ahead of hearing in Kanhaiya's case.

*Feb 17: Kanhaiya remanded in judicial custody till March 2 by Delhi court.

*Feb 18: Kanhaiya files bail application in SC.

*Feb 18: 6-member panel submits report on Patiala House violence to SC.

*Feb 19: SC transfers bail plea of jailed JNUSU President to Delhi HC, asks police to ensure proper security.

*Feb 19: Kanhaiya moves HC for bail.

*Feb 23: Police opposes bail plea of Kanhaiya in HC. HC seeks status report.

*Feb 23: JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya move HC seeking police protection prior to surrender.

*Feb 23: Kanhaiya claims in HC he is victim of conspiracy, alleges video was doctored.

*Feb 24: Umar and Anirban arrested.

*Feb 24: Delhi Police informs HC they will seek fresh remand of Kanhaiya as two more students have been arrested on sedition charge. HC adjourns bail hearing.

*Feb 25: Delhi court sends jailed Kanhaiya to one day police custody.

*Feb 26: Police interrogates Kanhaiya, Umar and Anirban together. Court sends Kanhaiya to Tihar Jail.

*Feb 29: Court extends police custody of Umar and Anirban by one day.

*Feb 29: HC reserves verdict on Kanahiya's bail plea.

*Mar 1: Court sends Umar and Anirban to 14 days judicial custody.

*Mar 2: HC grants six months interim bail to Kanhaiya. 

*March 3: Kanhaiya Kumar reaches campus after leaving Tihar jail.
