After his visit to Taj Mahal in Agra, the French President Emmanuel Macron will accompany the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Monday.

Uttar Pradesh is all set to get the largest solar power plant with an installed capacity of a 75 MW when Macron inaugurates it on Monday.

The largest solar power plant in the state has been built in collaboration with French solar power giant Engie Solar at Dadar Kala, some 25 kms from Mirzapur under the International Solar Alliance (ISA) program to promote solar energy across globe.

The French President and the Indian PM will arrive at Mirzapur from Varanasi on four choppers. Both will inspect the plant and are likely to address a public gathering at Dadar Kala, which has been taken over by the French and Indian Security agencies since Sunday night.

Heavy security arrangements have been made ahead of Macron-Modi visit. Besides SPG and the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force personnel have also been deployed to man three-layered security. Equipped with latest firearms and gadgets, a 90-member French Security team has already arrived in Varanasi to oversee security arrangements.

The Mirzapur District Magistrate BK Dubey said that as per the program received, both the leaders will spent about 45 minutes at Dadar Kala before leaving back to Varanasi on helicopters.

As per state-wide target fixed by the Prime Minister in 2015 to promote solar energy in the country, Uttar Pradesh has to install a total of about 4000 MW solar power plants across state by 2022. The State is lagging far behind in execution of generating solar energy. So far, only projects of about 100 MW capacity, including Mirzapur solar plant, are near completion in the state.

Both PM and French President will ride a bullet-proof boat in holy river Ganga from Assi Ghat to Dasashavmegh ghat to discuss bilateral ties. The security agencies have removed all other boats from the river Ganga and sealed all ghats barring entry of anyone without a valid pass till the departure of the French dignitary and the PM.
