Free WiFi in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi government makes big announcement

With the elections in Uttar Pradesh approaching, the Yogi Adityanath led government is leaving no stone unturned to woo voters. Now, the administration has decided to provide free WiFi facility to people in public places.

The government plans to provide free WiFi facility in a total of 217 places including 17 municipal cities.

The Uttar Pradesh government will provide free WiFi services in Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Bareilly, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, Ghaziabad, Mathura-Vrindavan, and Firozabad cities as well as 200 municipal councils. The facility will be provided especially around the bus stand, railway station, tehsil, court, block and registrar office.

Apart from this, the approval of the budget given by the Finance Committee for the district hospital in Amethi was passed in the meeting of the UP cabinet. The proposal for construction of new Panchayat Ghar and repair of old Panchayat Ghar in 58,189 Gram Panchayats within 6 months of the state has been approved. A Panchayat Assistant and Computer Operator will be posted in the Gram Panchayat. This will give employment to 1.25 lakh people.
