In the trial of his hit-and-run case, Salman Khan and his defence lawyers failed to prove certain points that eventually cemented the case against the actor. Here are four questions they didn’t have an answer to-

Was Salman at the wheel?

Salman Khan and his team maintained Salman wasn’t driving the car. It was his family driver Ashok Singh. But the First Investigation Report filed by his bodyguard Ravindra Patil clearly stated Salman was at the wheels and was drunk. The defence tried their best, but failed to prove otherwise.

Ashok Singh's testimony

The immediate question to Ashok Singh’s extremely late admittance that he was driving the car and not Salman, was why did it take so long for him to say so? Why did he never say word in all these years? The defence that Salman’s dad asked him to, was even more damning the plea. The judge refused to buy his testimony.

The defence also tried to argue that the police hadn’t taken fingerprints from the steering wheel, but the witnesses saying they saw Salman get off from the driver’s side, remained irrefutable.

Was Salman drunk?

Salman’s battery of lawyers kept insisting he had only sipped on his water and wasn’t drunk. But that claim, too, was belied by the blood analysis, where it was revealed there was alcohol in his blood, twice the permissible limit.

Salman's driving license

Salman Khan was accused of driving the car without a valid license. Salman produced a license, but it was from 2004 and not before 2002. RTO records also proved he didn’t have any license then.
