Four persons from Mumbai killed in car accident in Pune

A collision between a car and a truck on Mumbai- Bangalore highway claimed four lives, including three members from a Mumbai based family, on Monday morning. The mishap took place near Katraj area. 

The deceased have been identified as Yashwant Mane (55), Sharada Yashwant Mane (46), Hrishikesh Yashwant Mane (20) and Krushna Surve. Mane family and Surve were all residents of Chunabhatti area of Mumbai. 

According to Bharti Vidyapeeth police, the Mane family had traveled to Satara to drop their daughter at a college there. After dropping her, the family had started early morning to get back to Mumbai. 

"Hrishikesh was driving the car and when their car reached near Katraj tunnel in Jambhulwadi area, it rammed into a truck which was traveling ahead of the car. The car was damaged badly and all the four occupants of the car got trapped inside," a police officer of Bharti Vidyapeeth police station told DNA. 

A team of Bharti Vidyapeeth police rushed to the spot and by the time they got all the four occupants out of the car, they had lost their lives.
