Even before hitting the book stores across the World, Former US President Barack Obama's memoir, 'A Promised Land', is making headlines back in India. The book will go on sale this Tuesday.

Interestingly, the memoir mentions several senior Indian Congress leaders names which has drawn the attention of the Indian media.

From former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, to the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and not to forget Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, each one finds a mention in his book.

Manmohan Singh

In his much talked about book, Obama compares Manmohan Singh with former US Secretary of Defence Bob Gates, saying both coming across as 'having a kind of impassive integrity'.

Sonia Gandhi

But that's not all, the former US president does not forget to mention about the Congress President Sonia Gandhi in his memoir.

Mentioning about Sonia Gandhi's beauty, the former president wrote, 'We are told of the handsomeness of men like Charlie Crist and Rahm Emanuel, but not the beauty of women, except for one or two instances, as in the case of Sonia Gandhi.'

Rahul Gandhi

However Obama seemed critical while analysing about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. While describing Rahul Gandhi, Obama called him a 'student' who 'was eager to impress the teacher' but 'lacked either the aptitude or the aptitude to master the subject'.

Many World leaders too find a mention in his book, 'A Promised Land'.

Joe Biden

In his book, Obama mentions about the recent US President-elect Joe Biden, who served as the Vice president during his tenure.

Obama wrote, 'He is a decent man who might get prickly if he thought he wasn’t given his due - a quality that might flare up when dealing with a much younger boss.'

Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin reminds him of the tough, street-smart ward bosses who used to run the Chicago machine, though 'Physically, he was unremarkable’.

Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin had a tense relationship during his tenure as the US President.

The former US President's book, 'A Promised Land' is the first of a two-part memoir. As per the publisher, Penguin Random House, it is the story of Obama’s 'improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free World, describing in strikingly personal detail, both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency - a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil.'
