In a relief to Karthik Gowda, the Forensic Science and Laboratory (FSL) report has stated that sweat drops and semen found on the clothes of the small-time model were not his.

Karthik, who is a son of Union Minister Sadananda Gowda, was accused of a rape and cheating by a model and small-time Kannada actress.

Quoting sources, Deccan Herald reported, "FSL in the City has submitted a report to the police and report indicate that charges of rape against Karthik Gowda were obviously false."

The daily has also reported that the FSL is yet to submit its report on the voice identification and the mobile phone recordings of the conversation between the two.

In August 2014, the model claimed that she got married to Karthik Gowda on June 5, 2014 after meeting him on May 8, 2014. She also said that she wanted his family to accept her as their daughter-in-law.

Following which a case was filed against Karthik Gowda under Sections 420, 376 and 406 (charges relating to cheating, rape and dishonesty) of the Indian Penal Code.

The model had said, "We have known each other since May 8. This was after election, before the result. We became very close friends. We met because my family was looking for a groom, so for that reason I met Karthik. So he promised me that he will marry me. So he got married to me on June 5, in his Mangalore house."

Speaking on the allegations being levelled at his son, the then Railway Minister had said that it was a clear case of "character assassination" of an individual.
