Jaipur Police arrested the general manager of Food Corporation of India (FCI) on Wednesday after a female colleague of his filed a case of sexual exploitation and rape against him. The female officer, according to police officials, reported to the accused who is posted in Jaipur.
The man allegedly raped the woman on pretext of benefitting her in transfer postings. The woman registered a case against him and he was placed under arrest, on Wednesday, after nearly a 3-month long investigation.
The accused has been identified as Manveet Singh Bhullar posted as General manager in FCI. “A case was registered against the man on 1st June in Bajaj Nagar police station by a female officer in FCI,” officials said.
In her report, the woman claimed the GM forced himself upon her. “It was alleged that Manveet first claimed he would get a stay on the transfer order of the female personnel. The woman further claimed that Manveet took her to a hotel while keeping her occupied with his talks. However, at the hotel, the man overpowered the woman and raped her,” officials said, adding, “It was also alleged that the man made an obscene clip of the woman when he raped her. Using this clip, the GM then started to blackmail the victim and sexually exploited her several times.”
The woman told the cops in her report that after the incident, the GM went to Delhi for some work and instructed her to tag along with him on the journey.
“Blackmailing her with the clip, the man raped her in Delhi as well. After the case was registered, senior officials initiated investigation into the matter and late on Tuesday night, Manveet was arrested,” officials said.
