Jyoti Gupta is a proud mother today. Her son, Sahil, has topped the Class X exams under the UP board in Mathura district with 94%, just two years after she herself topped the same with 94.6%.

In 2014, at the age of 34, Jyoti appeared for her class X exams as she had dropped out of school earlier after class VIII, due to her family's financial issues, according to a report by Times Of India. However, she always wished to pursue her studies.

In 2013, she restarted her academic life and eventually appeared for her Class X exams in 2014.

Surprised at her success, she had then said that she was expecting to do well but never thought that she would become the topper.  In 2016, she went on to clear her Class XII board exams with a whopping 90% in the science stream.

Although she herself has seen tremendous success, she is overjoyed at what her son has achieved. She wants him to become an engineer, and for herself, she intends to pursue her graduation as well.

She was all praises for her husband, who she claims has been extremely supportive. Ajay, her husband who is a school teacher himself, always encouraged her to go to school, said added that he would often help her with the household work whenever she was busy studying.

Jyoti attended classes regularly at Samliya Inter-College, Bajna, where she had enrolled herself. She happily claims that "Though both us have been going to school for the past three years, Sahil has never felt uncomfortable about it. In fact, he's proud that his mother has gone back to school to complete her education."
