Flights to Greece and Siberia to get cheaper soon

Travelling to Greece may soon become cheaper as India has signed its first air service agreement (ASA) with Greece under the new 'open sky' policy. This will allow India to fly as many commercial aircraft to Greece as it wants.

However, carriers from Greece will be allowed to connect only six metro cities in India.

If airlines show interest in operating via this route, they will compete with each other in terms of airfare and services. Apart from Greece, India has also signed an ASA with Siberia.

Sources said that the government is also in talks with Air India regarding this. A senior official from the Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed the development. The official added that India is considering signing ASAs with 60 other countries. The move is aimed at improving international air connectivity on Indian carriers and ties with the countries.
