Five killed in two separate road accidents

One incident took place in UP, while the other in MP

Three people were killed and four others injured when the SUV they were travelling in hit a fallen tree and overturned near Mudkutti village in Uttar Pradesh late Sunday.

Police say that the driver probably could not see the tree, which fell during a thunderstorm, causing the vehicle to ram into it. 

Ram Kishan (50), Ram Subhag (40) and Brijesh Kumar (30) died on the spot, the police said, adding that the four injured were rushed to the district hospital.

Later, police personnel with the help of some locals removed the tree from the road late in the night. 

In another incident, this time in Madhya Pradesh two people were kiled when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle near a village on Jaipur-Jabalpur National Highway.

The accident took place late Sunday when the two men were going on the bike to take part in a marriage function near Pipalbe village, Rajgarh police station in-charge Anil Bamania said.

The deceased were identified as Prem Singh Sondhia (28) and Rambabu Sen (40), he said.

The truck driver escaped from the spot after the mishap, police said adding that a case under IPC section 304
