Five including two siblings drown in separate incidents

Five persons, including two siblings, drowned in separate incidents in Morbi and Jamnagar districts of Gujarat today, police said.

Bhavna Chauhan (13) and her cousins Lalo Chauhan (8) and Jago Chauhan drowned while bathing in a pond near their house in Tankara town of Morbi district.

"Locals tried to save them and rushed them to the government hospital where they were declared dead," said a police officer.

Two men drowned in river near Jalasan village in Kalavad tehsil of Jamnagar district.

The deceased were identified as Paresh Makwana (20) and Sanjay Makwana (25). A third man who was also drowning was saved by locals, police sub inspector A D Vala said.
