Finally, Omar Abdullah says Pakistani drivers held hostage

Sunday, 2 February 2014 - 12:31pm IST | Place: Srinagar | Agency: DNA

The 15 days old LoC standoff is fast turning out to be a full-blown hostage drama. Ending all speculations, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said Pakistani drivers do not have any diplomatic immunity and there is no reason why their (Indian) truck drivers should be “held hostage” (by Pakistan).

“I think the way in which Pakistan has handled this (drivers issue) is very unfortunate.... Now to hold our truck drivers hostage because we have arrested a drug smuggler is extremely unfortunate,” Omar said in Jammu on Saturday.
