Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the country to join his campaign 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (Save your Daughter, Teach your Daughter), in order to save the girl child in India.
Speaking on the radio program Mann Ki Baat, Modi expressed his concern about the declining sex ratio in several districts of India.
As part of a nationwide campaign he urged fathers and daughters to take selfies together, and post them on Twitter with the hashtag #SelfieWithDaughter, to support and highlight the cause and empower girls in the country.
On Twitter, Modi stated he would retweet the messages with the best tag line.
I urge all of you, share a #SelfieWithDaughter. Also share a tagline that will encourage 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' : PM @narendramodi

It didn't take long for fathers from around the country to come out in support of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', as they posted sweet pictures and inspiring messages about the most important females in their lives.
