A junior engineer was allegedly beaten up today by a man whose son had drowned into a water reservoir in Bundi district's Dugari village, police said.

The accused, Ghasilal Khateek, after an argument, manhandled the victim, Than Mal Nagar. The engineer was in the village this morning to click pictures of the reservoir, SHO at Nainwa Police Station Lakhan Lal Meena said "Khateek has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC. He has apparently alleged that his son drowned as the watershed department had not put a safety fence around the reservoir," the officer said.

The accused fled the village after the incident and efforts are underway to nab him, Meena said.

Nagar is posted with the department's office in Nainwa sub-division. He somehow managed to save himself and flee the spot, he said.

The boy was among four children who died after drowning in the reservoir on July 16, Meena said.
