Father accused of raping minor daughter in Baran

A man has been accused of raping his 14-year-old daughter in Haliya village of Baran district. The victim’s grandmother on Sunday lodged a case of rape against  Lal Chand Nath (35) who has gone absconding.

SHO Brijraj Nama said a case of rape has been registered against the accused. The victim, along with her two younger sisters and father, live in a separate house as their mother had died about 10 years ago.

The accused allegedly raped the daughter at night about 8-10 days ago while other two sisters were asleep. The victim narrated the incident the following day to her grandmother who lives separately. The grandmother at that time did not report the matter. However, the accused on Saturday night confronted his mother-in-law and insisted on taking the daughter with him.  She refused to let the girl go and filed the report against him.
