Fans pay their respects to Zohra Sehgal on Twitter and Facebook

Today, India lost one of its most prolific and legendary actresses Zohra Sehgal. She died at around 4:30pm in Delhi, at the age of 102. Her daughter Kiran confirmed that she died of a cardiac arrest and was unwell for the last few days.

The news broke after historian Irfan Habib tweeted:

Just confirmed that Zohra Aapa is no more. Cremation tomorrow at 12 PM at Lodhi Road crematorium. RIP @bombaywallah

He continued to tweet fond memories of the Indian performer.

What followed was an overflow of sympathies and best wishes to the family from all of Sehgal's beloved fans. Many expressed their shock at the actress' passing, while others simply acknowledged her vibrant and illustrious career which spanned decades.
