Amit Shah expressed confidence that the BJP led Maha govt will complete full term.
Allaying possibility of mid-term polls in Maharashtra, BJP national President Amit Shah on Saturday said that the party would fight and win the elections if it happens but Fadnavis government will complete its full term.
Addressing a press conference, Shah said that he has asked the party cadre to increase strength in the state. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP state unit president Raosaheb Danve accompanied him on the dais during the press conference.
When asked about statement by Chief Minister Fadnavis on mid-term polls, Shah expressed confidence that Devendra Fadnavis Government in the state will complete its full term. He said that Fadnavis has not made any statement that there would be mid-term polls in the state. Instead, Shah said, `Fadnavis has said that if at all there are mid-term polls, BJP is ready for the same. Can you expect us to say that we would run away from the battlefield. But let me make it clear that Fadnavis government will complete its five year term.’
When asked about his scheduled meeting with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday, he said that BJP was open for any suggestion about presidential candidate. Shah pointed out that BJP has already started consultations with other parties.
Praising Fadnavis government for handling farmers’ strike in a 'sensitive manner', Shah said that during the two and a half years of BJP government in the state, agricultural growth rate has grown rapidly. He expressed confidence that Fadnavis government was capable of handling the burden of loan waiver. BJP Preident also praised the government for its work regarding water conservation. He said that work in the field of water conservation and improving agricultural growth rate were the solutions for agrarian crisis.
