Treta yug is set to be recreated on the eve of Diwali on Wednesday in Ayodhya where a mega event costing Rs 35 crore to the state exchequer has been organised for the coronation of Lord Ram on his return as King of the temple town.

The Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is also eyeing to find a place in the Guinness Books of World Records by lighting 1.71 lakh diya and their immersion in holy river Saryu.

Scenes from Ramayana will be recreated to raise the Ayodhya pitch ahead of Supreme Court hearing, beginning December. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Ram Naik will welcome Lord Ram-Laxman and Sita at Bharatkund in Nandigram on the outskirts of Ayodhya.

In Treta Yuga, Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita had arrived in Ayodhya on 'Pushpak Viman'. This time they will fly from Nandigram to Saket College in a specially-decorated state government's chopper with another chopper above raining flowers from the sky.

Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons and Culture Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma have been invited to participate in the event. A special welcome gate is being made at Saadatganj area, which joins Ayodhya and Faizabad, with 201 quintals of flowers and lights to welcome the Ram Baraat which will be accompanied with ten 'raths', including one in which Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita would be sitting.

"It is an attempt by my government to showcase the rich cultural and religious heritage of Ayodhya before the world through this unique event," Adityanath said. He will announce development projects in Ayodhya worth Rs 135 crores and a helicopter service to the temple town at the event.

The event will be telecast live through 25 LED screens installed at every nook and corner of Ayodhya. At Saryu ghat, about 1.71 lakh diyas will be lighted and immersed in river Saryu to qualify for a place in the Guinness Books of World Record. Earlier, the record was for 1.5 lakh diyas from Ayodhya only.

A special Ramleela would be performed by artistes from Indonesia in the evening at Saryu ghat where a 108-feet statue of Lord Ram is to be installed. Ramileela would also be depicted through a unique Laser Show at the Saryu ghat.
