Congress president Rahul Gandhi, in his maiden speech at the parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, stepped up attack against Narendra Modi-led NDA government and asked the party cadre to expose the false promise of achche din by the Prime Minister. Terming the Modi government a ‘failed’ one on all fronts, Gandhi said the forces of hate, division and violence who are ‘trampling upon’ the Constitution should be prevented from returning to power.

“There is a rising tide of anger against the ruling dispensation that demands all of us to work very hard to give the people an alternative to the bogus promise of achche din,’’ Gandhi said.

“The people are looking up to the Congress and its allies to help remove the Modi government and replace it with one which will listen to them, understand their problems and provide solutions that reduce poverty, unemployment and inequality,” said Rahul adding it was for the Congress to restore hope in farmers and youth, right to dignified life and decent income.

From the burgeoning agrarian crisis to slowdown in the economy to unemployment, Gandhi cornered the Modi government while asking the party members to prepare for the war between “social justice vs autocracy”.
