CBI Special court in Panchkula on Friday found four including Gurmeet Ram Rahim guilty in the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chattrapati. The quantum of punishment will be announced by the court on January 17.

Ram Rahim was accused as the main conspirator in the case which dates back to 2002. Chhatrapati, the journalist, was shot at in October 2002 after his newspaper, 'Poora Sach', had published a story alleging Gurmeet Ram Rahim of sexual assault. It was an anonymous letter narrating how women were being sexually exploited by Gurmeet Ram Rahim at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. The journalist later succumbed to injuries and a case was registered in 2003. The case was handed over to the CBI in 2006.

The three other accused, including Ram Rahim, were arrested under section 302 and 120 b. The accused have been convicted under the circumstances of the pronouncement of the sentence on 17th January.

Ramchandra Chhatrapati's son Anshul Chhatrapati in an exclusive interview with Zee Media said that judge of the special court of CBI has come to be a God for his family. The protracted struggle to get justice for his father had finally yielded results.

Anshul also added that he saw Ram Rahim presenting his case via video conferencing. "The conviction of Ram Rahim came like a shock."

Anshul also added, "As soon as he heard the verdict and told the family, it was a joyous moment. We felt that the judge was like a God who came to help us in the battle we were fighting since 2002."

Anshuman has now taken over the printing of his father's newspaper. "My father showed the truth of the Dera Chief because of which he had to sacrifice his life. But today when this decision has come, we feel that his sacrifice is successful today."

Anshul and his family also thanked every person and the judiciary who gave them the support and strength to fight. "It would not have been possible to fight this battle for me and my family without their help."
