A group of 15 eunuchs emerged as saviours when Trilokpuri erupted in violence and saved the day.

According to reports by Firstpost, as a mob armed with swords and stones charged towards Block 35, the eunuchs stood at the entrance and threatened to start taking off their clothes if the angry men didn't turn back. The stakes were high as communities were clashing and the threat worked as the mob backed off.

The group did not stop at this and started a sort of sanitation drive by giving brooms to both Hindus and Muslims and asking them to clean the streets littered with stones and shards of glass.

"The condition of the area was so bad that people weren't able to even walk on the roads. Sanitation staff hasn't come after the riots. Someone has to clean these streets as we all have to live here in the end," Laila Sa, the chief of the group, who has been living here since 1976, told Times of India.

According to reports by Indian Express, 50-year-old Shameema Begum, the owner of a grocery shop in Sanjay Camp jhuggi where 500 Muslim families live, is doing another good deed. As prices of essentials like milk have gone up to Rs 100/ litre due to hoarding, this lady were giving away food to people.

A minor clash occurred between the two communities late Thursday over rituals for the Diwali festival in Trilokpuri's B-Block. Two groups of people pelted stones at each other. Police immediately rushed to the area and pacified the people. A group of persons again started pelting stones Friday on the other group aggravating the tense situation.
