What blessing can be better than having your Guru to grace the occasion of celebrations of your success? As Essel Group celebrated 90 years of its immensely successful journey on Sunday evening at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj was there to bless the family once again.

The Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Juna Akhara, Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj has shared a long relationship with Dr. Subhash Chandra’s family. He has been their spiritual guide, helping the family tide over the difficulties of life.

Keeping the stature of the Guru on the highest pedestal, Sudhir Chaudhary, on behalf of the Essel Group, requested Swamiji to be the first speaker to address the audience that included the august presence of President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Talking about his association with the Goenka family, Swami Avdheshanand said, “My relationship with this family has been a long journey. It started when I was a young Sanyasi. I have seen it emerge victorious through several struggles. The biggest virtue has been that they never left their core values.”

He added that a person is like a seed which when nurtured with right kind of natural conditions.

“Seed that has good land and is aided by natural support can touch the sky. Something of this sort of support system is there in this family too,” said Swami Avdheshanand.

“A good thing is that this family has dreams for everybody and is more than willing to share their successes and that has been one of the main reasons for achieving such great heights…It is on its path to achieve even greater heights by contributing in nation building,” added the Swamiji.

Telling the audience to follow the advice given in the Vedas, Swamiji said, “Those who respect the elders in the family and pay heed to parent’s advice reach greater heights… When somebody is going through bad times and is being engulfed by desperation then one should remember Guru. And when you feel tired remember great souls to rejuvenate your energy.”

Dr Chandra later thanked Swami Adhveshanand for providing spiritual strength to him and his family to help tide over every crisis.
