A new study by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has surveyed 2,73,487 potential voters ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, to check which are the issues topmost on people's minds. It appears that employment opportunities, healthcare and drinking water are the three burning issues that could decide the fate of the polls. On the other end of the spectrum are law and order and policing issues, agricultural subsidies and price for farm products as the issues that ranked low on voters' priorities.

The survey, that was conducted between October and December last year, however, was done much before the Pulwama attacks and the Balakot air strikes, and so may not necessarily reflect what's on people's minds today.

According to ADR, their main objectives were to identify voters' priorities, rating of the government's current policies and performance on those issues, and factors that may affect voter behaviour.
