After returning from his three-nation tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Daltonganj in the Palamu district in Jharkhand on Friday, for the upcoming legislative assembly elections in the state.

Addressing the rally, Modi said, "Your land is rich, but the people are poor, because you had a government that broke your dreams. If you want Jharkhand to develop, then eliminate dynasty politics from here."

Thanking people for BJP's win in the Lok Sabha polls, PM Narendra Modi said, "Welfare of farmers is the top priority of the government. I went to a University in Australia and met scientists. We discussed many things about increasing productivity for farmers. Similarly in Japan, I went to the lab of a Nobel Prize winning scientist and talked to him about the health of our Adivasi families."

Modi further added, "The government here says they will not allow ministers from Delhi to come here. The Jharkhand government doesn't want Modi's ministers to come here because they know they will expose their misdeeds."

Talking about making the "Jan Dhan Yojna" possible, Modi added that he had done in 60 days what the previous governments could not manage in 60 years. "Give me an opportunity, I want to work for the youth and Adivasi families of Jharkhand," he said.

"We want to build toilets in schools. States like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh with a significant tribal community elected the BJP and the party is working for them," he said.

Palamu is one of the most Naxal-infested districts of Jharkhand. The first phase of the five-phase polling in Jharkhand will begin on Tuesday for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.
