Veteran BJP leader Eknath Khadse, who has in the last one month cautioned the party that he was being pushed to a corner to quit the party, fired yet another salvo at both the party and the Maharashtra government on Saturday.
Addressing a public function at his home district Jalgaon, Khadse said, "I will create a scene in state Assembly, if north Maharashtra is denied of its due development fund."
Khadse resigned from the Maharashtra state Cabinet following allegations of corruption and impropriety in a land deal about 2 years ago.
The former minister reminded the people present at the gathering that the district Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, who is also the Revenue Minister for the state, had promised that north Maharashtra would receive due development funds.
Khadse said, "I believe in the Guardian Minister's words, but I would like to caution the government that if north Maharashtra districts of Jalgaon, Nashik, Dhule, Nagar are not provided with their due fund, I will create scene at the state Assembly during the ensuing budget session."
The state budget session is scheduled to start on February 26.
As the Devendra Fadnavis-led state government is beset with everyday problem regarding the security of Mantralaya with untoward incidents taking place frequently, opposition is likely to raise the issue of law and order situation in the state during the session. Khadse's attacks are likely to provide an edge and act as a catalyst to the opposition.
