"The way to a man's heart is through the stomach." While this popular adage was initially used to refer to men it certainly holds true for women as well. True to form, all the stops were pulled out as Hyderabad's premier hotel, the Royal Falaknuma Palace, geared up on Tuesday to provide a mouth watering menu to the US President's daughter.
Sources said that Prime Minister Modi, Ivanka and the 101 delegates were seated on the royal dining table — one of the world's longest dining tables — for the formal dinner. And while the guest list was not revealed sources stated that a number of stars, which includes the Badshah of Bollywood — Shah Rukh Khan — dined alongside the Prime Minister and Ivanka.
Coming to the menu, what was clear that India's and especially Hyderabad's finest cuisine was served up in a lavish five-course meal with close to 80 dishes being served. Among them were murg pista ka salan, sitaphal kulfi, dahi ke kebab, gosht shikampuri kebab, kubani ke malai kofta. As for the famous Hyderabadi biryani, it went without saying that it made a grand appearance.
In fact, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made a special point to mention it. During his speech at the GES, Rao insisted that none of the guests at the GES could leave without trying "Hyderabad's signature dish."
Ivanka who came after the Chief Minister to make her speech must surely have heard what he said.
