Egypt: Woman beggar arrested for feigning paralysis, owns five buildings and has 3 million Egyptian pounds

Reportedly, she was found walking on foot by eyewitnesses after finishing her rounds of begging.

A 57-year old woman beggar was arrested by the Egyptian police for feigning a leg amputation. Later It was found that the woman owned five buildings and 3 million Egyptian pounds in bank accounts, according to reports in international media.

According to the police investigations, the woman used a wheelchair and begged in several provinces of Egypt, the private newspaper Al Masry Al Youm reported.

The offender has been identified as Nafisa. 

The woman claimed that she couldn't walk due to paralysis, and begged for money in a wheelchair.

Reportedly, she was found walking on foot by eyewitnesses after finishing her rounds of begging.

Later the police found out that she had no physical ailments, and owned five residential buildings in the governorates of Gharbia and Qaliubia and owned nearly 3 million in two banks.
