The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday opposed the bail plea of AgustaWestland accused Sushen Mohan Gupta, stating that the move involves a huge risk. The probing agency informed the court that Gupta was influencing the witnesses in the case and asking them not to cough up any information to the sleuths.

The ED had previously said that it had recovered two diaries form a pen drive from the possession of Rajiv Saxena, an "approver", which allegedly belonged to Gupta. The agency alleged that the diary had a mention of a transaction of Rs 53 crores with one RG. "We want to identify the RG," the agency said on Monday. Earlier, Gupta had told the sleuths that the only 'RG' he knew was Rajat Gupta.

However, when the ED asked Rajat about it he denied. Rajat told the officials that though there had been some transactions between the two, he never accpeted Rs 53-crore from Gupta. "There is another 'RG', who we reached out to. He is Rajnish Gupta," the agency said.

Gupta's counsel, on the other hand, said, "They want my client to identify RG.... His name appears daily in newspapers, but there is no evidence," stated the counsel for Gupta. Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar has reserved the order for April 20.
