ED conducts searches at Karti Chidambaram's office

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted searches at former Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram's office. The matter relates to a case that ED is investigating foreign exchange violations by Advance Strategic Consulting Pvt Ltd and Vasan Healthcare. 

ED first conducted searches only at residences of those who are close to Karthi. But later, the team also raided Karti's office in his presence. A laptop recovered from his office has been taken under possession. ED South Zone is currently conducting the searches. 

The searches were reportedly conducted after Mohanan Rajesh, one of the directors of a company allegedly belonging to Karti, gave leads of important files present at the Office of Chess Global Advisory Services Pvt Ltd.

Karti is a Tamil Nadu Congress leader. He is also the vice-president of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) and also the chairman of India’s only ATP tournament, the Chennai Open.
