ED confiscates properties of Dawood's close aide Iqbal Mirchi worth Rs 22 crore

Clamping down on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Iqbal Mirchi, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized properties of Mirchi and his family worth crores. The government has been acting against Dawood and his aides associated with terrorist activities.

The action by ED was taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and properties worth Rs 22 crore have been seized that belonged to Mirchi, a close aide of Dawood who has been involved in drug trafficking.

A total of seven properties have been seized including a hotel, an under-construction hotel, a cinema hall, one farmhouse, two bungalows and three and a half acres of land at Panchgani in Mahabaleshwar.

This comes as the process of auctioning the properties of Dawood Ibrahim and his brother Iqbal Kaskar has already started. It will be auctioned online on November 10 in Mumbai.
