Earthquake of 5 magnitude jolts West Bengal’s Hooghly, tremors felt in neighbouring Odisha

Earthquake was reported in various parts of Odisha today at around 6:36 pm at a depth of 10km.

An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale jolted West Bengal and parts of neighbouring Odisha on Tuesday evening. According to the India Meteorological Department, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Hooghly district of West Bengal. The earthquake hit the region at around 6:36 pm at a depth of 10km. the tremors were felt in northern parts of Odisha also.  

Anandpur, Baripada, Balasore felt the tremors and people were seen coming out of their homes. 

Tremors were felt in some parts of Jharkhand too.
