'E-Vidyavahini' computer literacy vehicle launched in Faridabad

Taking forward the 'Digital India Mission', Faridabad Deputy Commissioner on Friday launched 'E-Vidyavahini', a computer literacy vehicle that will travel to the urban and rural belts of the district.

In order to comply with the Digital India Mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Deputy Commissioner Faridabad Amit Kumar Agrawal in the capacity of President District Red Cross Society and Gopal Kukreja, President Rotary Club of Faridabad Sanskar, a release said.

The agreement was about the running of a 'Digital Literacy Bus-E-Vidyavahini' that was dedicated to the people by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on September 5. The Deputy Commissioner informed that the bus, prepared with an investment of Rs 35 lakhs, is aimed to start the computer training on wheels. 

The bus is equipped with 20 laptops, one LCD and is connected with internet facility, he said, adding that it can enable computer learning for 20 students at a time. This moving computer training institute would be travelling through urban as well as rural areas of the district, Agrawal said.

Elaborating on the arrangement of running expenses, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Rotary Club of Faridabad Sanskar has agreed to bear the expenses of the bus driver, conductor, computer trainer and the fuel cost.
