Dust storm in Rajasthan claims 17 lives, injures 80

At least 17 people have been killed and more than 80 people injured in a deadly dusty storm which swept through parts of Rajasthan on Tuesday.

While trees and electricity poles were uprooted at many places, rail, road and air traffic was also affected due to the storm.

There have been reports of casualties from Dholpur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Sawai Madhopur and Baran, Bundi and Nagaur areas of Rajasthan.

The state administration has, meanwhile, announced a compensation of Rs four lakh from the disaster relief fund for the victims' families.
