A driver's body was found on Wednesday morning in an official Ambassador car of Union Minister  Babul Supriyo. The body was left undetected for more  than 12 hours. The car was parked in Udyog Bhawan which houses government ministries and is guarded by CISF.

The deceased was identified as Vinod Khanduri, and he was working for the minister for last few months.

A senior Delhi Police officer told a newspaper on Thursday that driver's family approached the police on Tuesday evening as he had not been taking calls on his mobile phone. On the basis of their complaint, a missing person's complaint was registered at Tughlaq Road police station.

Police found out that his last call records showed his location as New Delhi district but they couldn't trace a precise location.

Investigators questioned minister's other drivers and came to know that Khanduri last met them around 4PM of Tuesday in the parking area of Nirman Bhawan. On Wednesday morning, a CISF office found the body and a PCR call was made. Post-mortem report will clear the air on exact cause of death, but prima-facie it appears a natural death, officer added.

In there defence, CISF said that they don't check vehicles with Parliament sticker, as was the case with minister's car. Senior officials of New Delhi district police are now planning to prepare a report about the incident and will send it to home ministry.

“We will share the right information at the right time,” said  Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Thursday
