Chairman of Zee Media Group Dr Subhash Chandra showed his support for the 'Clean India' campaign, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by joining volunteers in cleaning Hisar, Haryana, on Wednesday.

Launched on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the campaign -- driven by the Hisar-based Help & Care NGO -- saw Dr Chandra as its chief guest at the Maharaja Agrasen General Hosipital in Hisar.

Dr Chandra first joined volunteers in sweeping the premises of the hospital and later urged them to go to different areas of the city to promote the objective.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Chandra said that the campaign would have a domino effect. Not just positive results, the campaign would also see a regulation on health problems, he said.

"Each person should clean his house and its surroundings for at least an hour. This will also help them keep fit and away from health-related diseases," he said.

Dressed like other volunteers in a white t-shirt and cap that read 'Swachch Hisar-Swatsth Hisar' (clean Hisar-healthy Hisar), Dr Chandra urged people to join the movement for a clean India.
