Addressing sco-res of fans and followers, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Subhash Chandra on Sunday said that if people focus on their duties and ensure fulfilling them, then there's no one who can deprive them of their rights.

A multitude had gathered in Meerut to listen to Dr Chandra as he arrived at Patel Mandap with Rashtriya Kartavya Party leader Kiran Aarsi Jatav.

In his address, Dr Chandra said, "Those who take our rights away only succeed when we aren't aware of our duties." Talking about the recently launched political party, he said, "Whenever a political party is launched, the leaders claim that they will get people their rights back. But this is the first party I have seen that talks about kartavya (duty)." He added that Kiran underwent a long period of struggle "which I truly understand because I underwent the same in my life when I started."

The Rajya Sabha MP said, "I'll be with her and I assure her of my support, so that people and country both can benefit from her and her party's ideology and their struggle." The event was named "Kartavya Sammelan".

Talking about the politics of UP, he said that BSP leader Mayawati spent a long time in UP politics and that when he sees efforts made by Kiran, it reminds him of Mayawati's support to the Jatav community.

However, giving an example, Dr Chandra said, "It reminds me of the story of a Rs 1 coin and a Rs 2,000 note. While one (the coin) gets rotated everywhere and can be used anywhere, the Rs 2,000 note has limited use due its huge denomination. So, I'd like to tell you that never underestimate yourself and do not let anything deter you from your duties. Believe in yourself and be your strength."

Dr Chandra added that he'd like to see Kiran as the chief minister of UP some day, but said that he hopes she does not become the next Mayawati. "I believe you will not, and I have full faith in you," he added.
