DoT wants IIPM 'virus' off internet

DoT has asked Internet service providers to block access to 78 URLs mostly consisting news portals and blogs having content on business school Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) and its head Arindam Chaudhuri.

The department of telecom (DoT) has asked Internet service providers to block access to 78 URLs mostly consisting news portals and blogs having content on business school Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) and its head Arindam Chaudhuri.

The URLs include the University Grants Commission notification, saying IIPM is not a university and does not have the right of conferring or granting degrees as specified by UGC. It also includes pages of reports written by media firms and bloggers like Faking News and The Wall Street Journal.
