The deadly trail of mutual hatred left behind by the recent Muzaffarnagar riots refuses to die. Ten bodies have been recovered from various parts of the district in the past one month after the communal riots officially died down in September. According to the district administration, all these murders are engulfed in mystery and no accused has been named.
Besides murder, several incidents of stray assaults have also been reported from the district.
Local residents claim that all these murders were “revenge killings” by the rival communities.
Confirming such incidents to dna, a district administration official said, “Yes, in the past 40 days, about ten bodies have been recovered from various parts of the district... Investigation in those cases is so far blind, as we could not find any eyewitness or any lead.’
